Upcoming Trip Halloween 2016

We had a trip planned for Halloween 2016 to continue with concreting of footpaths and some roof repairs but in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew our plans have changed.

Our team will leave Dublin on Saturday 29th of October to spend a week with Gena in Kenscoff to try and repair some of the damage left in the wake of the storm. Gena has sent a report informing us that thankfully  there were no injuries or fatalities but the orphanage and surrounding areas took a battering. There has been some structural damage to buildings and damage to trees and vegetation. Also a  number of employees at the orphanage suffered damage to their homes which will directly effect their livelihoods and income for the foreseeable future.

Our aim is to do what we can in one short week and to prioritise the greatest needs for now. We will be planning another trip in 2017 to continue the work
